COMMERCIAL DOORS AND FRAMING GENERAL INFORMATION AND SPECIFICATIONS
The CDW Systems range of non thermal commercial doors and framing has been designed to meet the requirements for ground floor treatments, in either new building work or into existing buildings. The system is suitable for applications where a reliable heavy duty door is required, such as shops, offices, schools, etc. and has been consistently upgraded to meet increased standards of safety and security.
Construction Door leaves are square cut and assembled using aluminium brackets.
Flexibility A variety of door stile and rail options are available to meet different requirements and increase the choice of hardware. A range of thresholds offer improved weathering or facilitate disabled access.
Safety One-piece anti finger trap door stile with double weatherpile interlock.
Security Co-extruded external beads to door rails to deter removal of the glass from outside.
Hardware The widest range of door closers, handles, exit devices, locks, entry systems and multi-point locking is available.

STANDARD PRODUCTS
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, STANDARD SPECIFICATION DOORS COMPRISE THE FOLLOWING HARDWARE:
CENTRE HUNG DOORS:
These are designed for either single or double swing operation and the closer mechanism is concealed in the frame head – i.e., no visible door closers. Doors are hung centrally in the frame and will open to just past 90 degrees and will not swing right back. Suitable for most applications.
Lock Adams Rite MS2200 security hook lock with either double cylinder or cylinder with thumbturn. Each cylinder with 3No. keys. SAA escutcheons.
Handles CDW 300mm plain pad handles both sides.
Flush Bolts 1No. pair flush bolts to slave leaf of double doors.
ANTI-FINGER TRAP DOORS
(As above, but with anti-finger trap door stile section 4001aft/4008 combination).
The rounded anti-finger trap hinge stile and applied jamb to the door frame seal the visible gap between the edge of the door and the frame when the door is open and it is not possible to trap hands or fingers when the doors are closing. These types of doors are now widely used in schools, hospitals and other public buildings where safety is required.
REBATED DOORS
These doors are manufactured with doors having 2No. pivot hinges and a face fixed (visible) overhead closer. These doors shut against a rebate and can only open either in or out and will not swing both ways.
Closer Adams Rite face mounted non-hold open closer in SAA finish. (Dorma closers are also available.
Hinges 2No. SAA Dorma LM load bearing and adjustable hinges per leaf
Lock Adams
Rite MS2200 security hook lock with either double cylinder or cylinder with
thumbturn.
Each cylinder with 3No. keys. SAA escutcheons.
Handles CDW 300mm plain pad handles.
Flush
Bolts 1No. pair flush bolts to slave leaf of double doors.
Weatherstripping Door stiles with double woolpile all sides plus
external top and bottom double woolpile draught strips.
Pocket Glazed Framing
102x46mm sections having an open backed main frame/mullion/transom section and clip in plate. Available with double glazed products only. Sections are non thermal, suitable for most applications up to approximately 4 metres high although guidance should be sought on suitability. Please note this system is externally beaded only and should never be internally glazed.
The system has no weathering and any water is designed to run down the mullions, therefore the use of a sub-cill is recommended.
Nib and Bead Framing
A 102x45mm box section system using applied beads and available on single glazed products. Sections are non thermal, suitable for most applications up to approximately 4 metres high although guidance should be sought on suitability. The system can be either internally or externally beaded but generally supplied for internal. Consideration should be given to large panes of glass and whether they can be handled internally and if handling is a problem nib and bead frames should be ordered externally beaded.
The system has no weathering and all joints should be sealed prior to glazing and an additional silicone line can also be applied to the beads.
Curtain Wall Framing
A 100x50mm thermally broken, pressure equalised system with weather rating suitable for high rise applications or where a stronger certified, thermal break/weathered system is required. A variety of mullion sections is available to suit the application.
The system comprises a main mullion section to which the glass is applied. Glass is held in place by a plastic pressure plate which as well as acting as the thermal break, also secures the glass in position. A final external capping is clipped into place externally to complete the installation and external appearance.
The system is fully weatherproof and tested, suitable for most applications whether low rise or spanning floors. The use of a sub-cill is recommended.
General
With all the above systems, inset casement windows, doors and other products can be incorporated as can angles, shapes, curves and special designs.
